You can explore the banks of the river Thames with a wealth of picturesque riverside walks with traditional Inns and tea rooms along the way the quintessential village of Bibury for an afternoon tea along with numerous National Trust Houses and gardens. Nearby attractions include Kelmscott Manor RAF Fairford and Chedworth Roman Villa. The accommodation offers ONE double bedroom. Bathroom: with shower and WC. Lounge/diner: with woodburner and smart TV. Kitchen: well-equipped with oven and hob fridge/freezer dishwasher washing machine and microwave. Outside: with enclosed courtyard. The city of Gloucester, for example, is where William the Conqueror ordered the creation of the Domesday Book and the magnificent cathedral here has many connections with the Norman kings of England. With our Gloucestershire cottage holidays, you’re just a short drive away. Make sure Berkeley Castle is also on your itinerary. This 12th century castle has been owned by the Berkeley family since its foundation and is now a fine stately home, packed with art treasures, tapestries, silver, porcelain and furniture.
Then there’s elegant, genteel Cheltenham, with its grand terraces, much frequented by the lords and ladies of Georgian times and now home to some very smart shops. Or step back in time to Tewkesbury, where timbered buildings sit crowded on the banks of the rivers Avon and Severn.
